English Comp test Today, Hopefully.

Edit Update: I did take it and I think I will pass it, but I'm not worried about it. I was able to complete the essay on time and able to edit it for 10 minutes or so. So still 2-4 weeks until I found out if I passed for sure, next is Biology. ;)

So today, Lord willing I am hoping to take the English composition clep test. I feel like I am ready for it so just pray that I write a good essay. I have 45 minutes to complete an essay on a topic given me there, in my practicing I've always managed to have a full five paragraph essay done in time, but not always edited, (which is not as important). The multiple choice part(basic grammar) is supposed to be a breeze and I did well on the practice tests, so everything else is in the Lord's hands.
I will update this post after I take it and then also when I receive my score, which will be in about two to four weeks after I take it. (essay has to be graded by two college professors, so pray for them too)
God Bless! :)

Wind, Rain, Tornado warnings, Freeway closures, State of Emergency....

So it has been raining here non-stop since last night. Tornado warning was issued a few hours ago, parts of freeways are closed down because of debris. State of emergency declared for all of Arizona. Semis blown over on I-10. Sky Harbor Airport has been closed down since 1:00 pm. Wind gusts tonight supposed to be up to 60 mph. It looks like we just had irrigation in the yard.
Looks like fun! ;)

God's plans in our Lives

So at my church we have been going through the book of Acts. I just absolutely love it, but anyways. Two Sundays ago we were on chapter ten, and it was about Peter and Cornelius. And how God told Peter in a vision to go to the gentiles and that the gentiles could be saved as well as the Jews. And Peter did as he was told and God's hand was very providential in the place and time of meeting and the eating with the first gentile family.
But what I saw interesting, and shared was that, Peter had no idea to go to the Gentiles and that the gospel was open to them, before that it was still Jews around Israel. It was possibly the farthest from his mind. ?? But then God showed that he should do so and to tell others to do so as well. I think it's funny how God has us do things in life(or callings or in the process of being called) that sometimes we had never thought of or dreamed of doing. Five years ago, I would of thought of the possibly of being a missionary far fetched for me, but now it could be a possibility (but I don't know for sure or for yet), or given the talent/passion (somewhat) for music I have and the opportunities to serve Him that He has given me.

Never our will but His, and if I can keep that in mind who knows what I'll do (or don't do) in life.

It's raining, It's pouring, It's wonderful!

It is raining. I know a random fact. It was raining yesterday, but this morning we woke up to the leaves glistering in dew in the sun, but then it rain more, raining now. And it was the first time for me driving in the rain (heavy downpour on I-10) from guitar lessons. Our poor windshield wipers didn't help much being a little dried out from the sun.
So I know it's sad but first time it has rained this year. It supposed to rain til' Thursday!

Music Classes and Prayer Requests

So yesterday I was blessed with the news that I will be able to continue guitar and violin lessons. I won two scholarships to the Irish Cultural Center academy, one for guitar lessons and last week I won one for fiddle lessons. I am very thankful for this because there were only 5 scholarship's being granted, and I won two of them! They are not complete scholarships because you have to pay a potion of the fee's, but it covers a good amount of the cost.
But please pray for my fiddle teacher (Jane) she will not be teaching this term because she has gotten sick. I don't know what it is (they won't tell us), but am told is is serious and she'll be taking a good time off teaching.

So this term Pat the guitar teacher will be teaching the fiddle class; I know your wondering "how does a guitar teacher teach fiddle?". Well, he will be teaching us how to play with other players in Irish sessions (like a jam), including session etiquette. And he will be teaching us CĂ©ili (i think that's the right word, it sounds like 'Kailey') style. Which uses the same tunes, but has a different tempo and style. I know it's played faster; it uses tempos especially for dancers.

So I also have another post idea, but on different topic. So when I have time I'll post it.
BTW I just finished my first practice essay for my studying, hopefully it's not to terrible.

12 More Needed for Scotland/Ireland!

The other day Mrs. Wheeler (Little Bear's wife) called my dad and said that they had 18 confirmed people for the Scotland trip, but that 12 more are needed to give it a green light to go. So please pray that God would supply the people to go if it's His will. I will keep ya'all updated when I find out any more news.

Happenings in the new year

So lately we have been very busy with Christmas things, gatherings, etc.... So we are starting to slow down a bit, but there is still Christmas decorations (inside) to take down. ( I spent most of the day taking down the outside stuff) house to clean before next week when we have yet another gathering at house. And on top of that I hope to dive in to my English Composition studying tomorrow. Talking about English; I want to leave a note for all my readers to bear with me on my writing skills (including spelling) that I use in my posts. I am not a good writer at all but I am trying to get better, hopefully it will by the time I get close to taking my English test (it better be else I'll fail, lol).

Also, I hope everyone had a good year last year and a will have a blessed year this year! I did not sit out the old year but instead went to bed. (sign of old age??)

So the other night I stayed up to wait for one of our trailers to be returned, and it gave me a chance to record a few of my songs that I've wrote onto my MP3 player (which records) just see how they sounded. Which I'm not sure how they sounded for sure, one thing I know that I don't have a good voice but maybe not as bad as I thought. But it was still a good time just play my guitar and 'try' to sing along. I did like the way the guitar sounded, kinda rough around the edges like the 'Jesus Demos'. (at least I think so a little bit)
